Last night i headed out towards a well decorated house down the street, 26 Pindari st to be precise.

Out the front of a house near mine. It takes them ~3 months to set it all up (in their spare time)

The wonderful thing about christmas lights is the bokeh they create

I closed the 50mm up to 3.5 for that nice hexagon bokeh

This one is the same as the other photo except that I opened up the f stop to the full 1.8 which gave me the nice round bokeh.

Again I couldn’t choose between the two photos, this time i changed the focus to the second deer.

So it’s been a while since my last post, so basically in the last month I have sat my IB exams, finished school, gone to schoolies, gone to rainbow beach and the finally yeppoon.

After a mamoth hike down the dunes I arrived here where I was greated by the ‘rainbow’ cliffs.

It may not seem that steep but it sure was especially with all my camera gear.

Gold Coast

Unfortuantly I couldn’t open this window to get the camera out, though to be fair I was 45 floors up, and hence the smudges and generally unsharp image.

Dusk again from the window, though this time it’s alot less noticable.

Q1 is the Highest Residental building on the Gold Coast, though it was nothing compared to Burj Dubai (~880m)

Last Night was the 2009 QACI Semi formal, here are the results. Click here for the hi-fi version post (Bigger Images, Slower to load)
It was my first time doing a social event, but overall I think it came out quite well. Everyone had a great night so what more could you ask for?

A shot from the outside of the The Abandoned Wacol Mental Asylum. The kangaroos around me seemed a little edgy, maybe they were jealous. Image is slightly crooked on purpose, see if you can work out why.

Took another trip to Wacol today… Balancing on in old doorway for 6 exposures sure was fun!

A Big thanks to Christolakis for the location of this amazing place. me and a friend were there for about 2 hours, it was a very hot day. Sure made me wish a had a wider lens. if you know of any similar places pm me on Flickr or leave a comment.

You really have to view this large or larger to get it in properly, unfortunately I lost some of the photo to cropping, but if I go back there I’ll be sure to try again.

WOW my widest photo ever at nearly 15,000 x 3,000 px. Stiched together using Hugin, not too sure what happened to the sun though. It’s too wide to put a higher res version on here. click on the image for a higher res version.

After spending 50 minutes looking for a way to get up here I finally got the shot I was looking for, was it worth it? Looks better in large

Testing out the New 50.0 mm f/1.8, wow. Only thing was that this was out of focus. Oh well, At school we had a language day, obviously it ended with a piñata. This was the moment that it broke open.
